The foundation for hierarchical switch infrastructures

LANCOM aggregation switches facilitate the establishment of high-performance, hierarchical switch infrastructures, serving as the foundational distribution for connecting subordinate access switches. They feature advanced fiber optic and multi-Gigabit Ethernet (mGbE) ports, along with high-throughput uplink and stacking ports, ensuring the creation of efficient and reliable networks ready for future demands.

Why Choose LANCOM Aggregation Switches

LANCOM aggregation switches are designed to deliver high performance, reliability, scalability, and future-proof connectivity, making them an ideal choice for modern network infrastructures.

Stacking enables network expansion, redundancy configurations, and single IP management implementation. LANCOM aggregation switches incorporate features like Virtual Port Channel (VPC / MC-LAG), optional fan configurations, and hot-swappable redundant power supplies to ensure uninterrupted operations with 100% uptime.

Designed to minimise Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), LANCOM aggregation switches feature industry-standard native ports, eliminating the need for costly modular designs. This approach enhances efficiency while maintaining reliability and scalability in network deployments.

Key Features

› Network design with 100% uptime via VPC / MC-LAG

Virtual Port Channel (VPC), also known as Multi-chassis Link Aggregation Group (MC-LAG), improves the reliability of large network infrastructures by linking two aggregation switches. In a VPC setup, if one switch fails or undergoes maintenance such as a firmware update, the other seamlessly takes over its duties without interruption.

Critical network information like MAC tables and routing details is continuously exchanged between the switches via a peer link to ensure uninterrupted data forwarding. Each switch in the VPC configuration remains independently manageable, allowing for individual restarts or updates while maintaining 100% network uptime.

› Cloud-managed LAN and switch stacking

The LANCOM Management Cloud simplifies network integration and automates configuration deployment across locations with ease. It centralises device management, enabling VLAN assignment to switch ports and facilitating efficient stack management and monitoring.

› Secure Terminal Access

Secure Terminal Access through the LANCOM Management Cloud enables encrypted command line access (“CLI tunnelling”) directly from the interface. It supports trace, ping commands for troubleshooting, and provides detailed LCOS SX configuration and statistics access. Additionally, it offers secure remote access to local network devices via an integrated SSH client, enhancing management with advanced diagnostic capabilities—all within the cloud environment.

› Flexibility and investment protection

Stacking enhances network flexibility and safeguards your investment by consolidating multiple physical switches into a unified, easy-to-manage entity. It simplifies network expansion by automatically configuring new switches from the stack master, ensuring rapid deployment. Stacking also facilitates redundancy setups, boosting network reliability with seamless failover capabilities.
